A Personal Turning Point That Shapes Her Work
My professional mission is inseparable from my own lived experience.
“My turning point came when I realized that being ‘good’ was costing me my aliveness.”
For years, I did everything right: earning advanced degrees, following the rules, building a life that looked successful and secure from the outside. As a therapist and wife, I was fluent in caretaking, self-sacrifice, and keeping the peace. What I wasn’t fluent in was desire. My own voice, needs, and embodied truth.
That quiet erosion showed up most clearly in my relationships and sexuality, where disconnection and shame replaced curiosity and pleasure. This experience now informs my work with others who feel accomplished on paper but disconnected in their bodies, relationships, and inner lives.

I am available for interviews and speaking engagements on topics including:

About Courtney (Personal)
I live in Germany with my husband, three teenagers, and dog. When I am not writing or coaching, I can be found traveling, reading, chasing joy, savoring excellent coffee, and engaging in deep conversation. I consider myself perpetually learning, unlearning, and writing the next chapter of my story.
