Hello!
I’m Courtney Boyer, M.Ed., M.S.
sex and relationship coach
I’m a therapist-turned sex and relationship coach, author, speaker, and somatic retreat curator dedicated to helping high-functioning women and couples – the “perfect from the outside but are barely holding it together inside” types – stop performing their lives and start truly living them.
My work is focused on helping people untangle themselves from the expectations burned into them by society, from purity culture to perfectionism and burnout, and reawaken their wants, needs, and desires so they can live and love authentically.
Every day I work to challenge the cultural narratives that teach women that they have to self-sacrifice and suppress their own needs and desires in marriage, motherhood, and sexuality in order to feel loved and accepted.

Why work with me?
Seamless integration of training and lived experience
I have dual Master’s degrees in Human Sexuality and Mental Health Counseling, years of clinical experience as a therapist and coach, and training in somatic modalities.
But just as importantly, I myself have been the high-functioning, “everything looks perfect but I’m dying inside,” ideal Christian wife and mother. Then, 17 years into a marriage where I felt like I was drowning in emotional distance, sexual rejection, and crushing mental load, I asked my husband one terrifying question:
And that changed the trajectory of my entire life –and his – in the best way (I write about it in my memoir, Opened).
I share that story to say: I’ve been where you are – performing a perfect life and relationship that looks so good on the outside, but was feels suffocating on the inside.
What if we opened the marriage?
My Approach
Focused feeling & exploration
We all change over time, and for some of us we wake up one day and ask “is this all there is?”
My coaching approach centers on helping you rediscover yourself both physically and emotionally. The goal is to explore and embrace the person you’ve become, despite years of self-abandonment, people pleasing, and disconnection
We work through personalized exercises for exploring and understanding yourself, burnout tools and techniques to integrate into your daily life, and then work together on a plan for how you can build the life and relationships that actually meet you where you are now.
We’re not here to get you back to how things used to be; we’re here to move you toward what’s actually true now.
Travel is illuminating
Sometimes the best thing you can do for your marriage is book a solo trip and a plane ticket.
That’s why I offer a small number of curated retreats each year - some for groups, others bespoke private experiences designed to help you step outside your assigned roles and get greater perspective on the life you want – and what needs to change for you to get it.
You bring your exhaustion, resentment, curiosity, and hope. I’ll bring the somatic techniques, structure, support, and a city that reminds you what it feels like to be alive.
My Books
Both of my books, Opened, and Not Tonight, Honey further the mission of learning to live and love authentically by offering both individuals and couples a different perspective and path forward when looking to make real change in their lives and relationships.
I used to believe being a ‘good wife’ meant shrinking myself. Now I help women and couples build relationships where no one has to disappear.
